In South Korea, the 14th of every month is a special day which lovers and/or friends can celebrate together. Below is a list of these special days and the relevant rituals:

14 January: Diary Day – Giving diaries or yearly planners as presents to lovers and friends to welcome the start of the New Year

14 February: Valentine’s Day – Females giving chocolate as presents to the males they love to express their affection

14 March: White Day – Males giving candies as presents to the females they love to express their affection

14 April: Black Day – Single people wearing black and eating 자장면(Jiajangmyeon – Korean Black Bean Sauce Noodles) together to console each other

14 May: Yellow Day / Rose Day – Single people wearing yellow, eating yellow curry and making resolutions to find a lover and cease to be single, and lovers giving each other roses as presents

14 June: Kiss Day – Lovers kissing each other

14 July: Silver Day – Lovers giving each other silver rings or other silver accessories as presents and making promises to love each other forever

14 August: Green Day – Lovers going to the countryside and enjoying the nature together, and single people drinking 소주 (Soju – a kind of Korean alcoholic beverages in green bottles) to drive away loneliness

14 September: Photo Day – Lovers taking photos together

14 October: Wine Day – Lovers enjoying wine together

14 November: Movie Day – Lovers watching movies together

14 December: Hug Day – Lovers hugging each other (Good for keeping warm in winter!)

      Currently, the materials on this topic tend to be brief and there seems to be no detailed research on this topic yet. The sources I choose for my blog posts are the ones which I find more reliable. For example, this post’s sources are a book on Korean culture (in Korean) from an established publisher, information provided by the official Korea Tourism Organization and what I experienced during my 6-month stay in South Korea.

      I do not know the details of your mission but if there are any specific aspects of this topic that you would like to know, please let me know and I will try to see if there are any good research materials on them.

    • Thanks for your comments. I use the free template from wordpress.com and you can customize it my changing the colours and adding widgets provided by wordpress.

I create this website myself using the wordpress free template – although I am not so knowledgeable in IT matters, as the wordpress is very user-friendly so set-up is quite easy for me. You may also read books on setting up and designing blogs from which you can get more advice.
